Lula congratulates Pashinyan, reaffirms Brazil’s commitment to closer ties with Armenia

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his reappointment following his party’s victory in Armenia’s parliamentary elections, reaffirming Brazil’s commitment to strengthening ties with Armenia.

In a congratulatory message, Lula extended his best wishes to Pashinyan on behalf of the Brazilian government and people, as well as in his personal capacity.

“On behalf of the Government and the people of Brazil, as well as on my own behalf, I warmly congratulate you on your reappointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia,” the message reads.

The Brazilian president said Brazil attaches great importance to the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and expressed his readiness to work closely with Pashinyan to deepen political dialogue and expand bilateral cooperation.

“I reaffirm my willingness to work together with Your Excellency to deepen our political dialogue, expand bilateral cooperation, and advance initiatives of mutual interest for the benefit of our two peoples,” Lula said.

He also highlighted the contribution of Brazil’s Armenian community, describing it as a valuable bridge between the two countries that strengthens people-to-people, cultural and economic ties.

“The vibrant Armenian community in Brazil serves as a valuable bridge between our countries, reinforcing the human, cultural and economic ties that bring us closer together,” the Brazilian leader said.

Lula wished Pashinyan success in leading the Armenian government for another term and reiterated Brazil’s commitment to further developing relations with Armenia.
