The peace agreement between Yerevan and Baku will be a breakthrough on the path to peace in the region, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said at a meeting with his Kazakh counterpart Murat Nurtileu in Astana.
He emphasized that it’s necessary to emphasize that Armenia has been and remains committed to the peace agenda in the South Caucasus.
Important regional issues were touched upon during the meeting. Mirzoyan briefed Nurtleu on the latest developments and data regarding the settlement of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“Our states are united in their desire to strengthen sovereignty and independence, as well as in their desire to increase the transit potential of our countries and modernize national economies. All this creates a solid foundation for expanding partnership,” FM Mirzoyan stated.
He emphasized that Yerevan and Astana often hold either coinciding or very similar positions on a number of key issues on the international and regional agenda.
“It is obvious that strengthening regional stability through the implementation of peace initiatives is also in line with our goals,” the Armenian Foreign Minister said.
