Armenian artists draw strong interest at Cyprus Art Fair, most works sold

Works by Armenian contemporary artists attracted significant attention and were nearly sold out at the international VIMA Art Fair held in Limassol, Cyprus.

The exhibition featured works by Armen Hakobjanyan, Gayane Avetisyan, Astghik Petrosyan, Gohar Sargsyan and Andronik Khachiyan. The artists were presented at the prestigious fair for the first time through an initiative curated by the hosq Foundation.

This year’s VIMA Art Fair brought together more than 150 artists from 20 countries, as well as 26 galleries. The event included exhibitions, discussions and interactive programs across Limassol, Nicosia and other cities.

According to the organizers, the Armenian stand attracted strong interest from collectors and art professionals, with most of the exhibited works finding buyers during the fair.

Following the event, works by Armen Hakobjanyan continue to be showcased at the renowned bbf:design studio in Limassol, where they are displayed in various interior settings and remain available for acquisition.

Curator Andronik Khachiyan said the fair provided an important opportunity to present Armenian contemporary art to international collectors, curators and gallery representatives, noting that the response and interest in future collaborations were highly encouraging.
