
Armenia’s Ambassador to Iran Grigor Hakobyan visited the Norduz border crossing on the Armenia-Iran border, where he met with Julfa Governor Yahya Dashti, Head of the Norduz border checkpoint Mohammad Ebrahim Nushirvanzadeh, and Iran’s Consul General in Kapan Morteza Abedini Varamin.
The parties discussed deepening cooperation between the border checkpoints of the two countries, facilitating cargo shipment and truck transit, removing existing obstacles, and improving services provided to citizens.
Ambassador Hakobyan emphasized the importance of the Meghri and Norduz border checkpoints during the recent military hostilities, noting that despite difficult conditions they managed to serve large numbers of citizens without significant disruptions.
He also stressed that the reconstruction of the Meghri border crossing and the construction of a second border bridge would help increase transport capacity and promote bilateral trade and economic ties between Armenia and Iran.
