Armenian Football Federation President Armen Melikbekyan and Georgian Football Federation President Levan Kobiashvili met with FIFA President Gianni Infantino to discuss preparations for the 2029 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by Armenia and Georgia.
During the meeting, the heads of the football federations of Armenia and Georgia said that hosting the 2029 Youth World Cup is both a great honor and a major responsibility for their countries.
They expressed deep gratitude to the FIFA football family for placing such high trust in Armenia and Georgia by awarding them the right to host the prestigious tournament.
The sides reaffirmed their full readiness to combine all resources and efforts to organize the competition at the highest level.
Melikbekyan and Kobiashvili emphasized that both countries are determined to turn the 2029 World Cup into a true football celebration, distinguished by excellent organization and a unique atmosphere of hospitality.
The upcoming steps and details of the joint working agenda have already been discussed with Infantino in order to ensure the flawless staging of the championship.
