European weightlifting champion Garik Karapetyan (102 kg) won a gold medal at the world youth (U20) weightlifting championship held in Guadalajara, Mexico, with a result of 378 kg (175+203 kg).
Karapetyan also won small gold medals in snatch and clean & jerk events. This was the third gold medal of the Armenian team in the weightlifting youth championship.
Earlier, Gor Sahakyan and Alexandra Grigoryan also on the champion’s title.
