Republic of Artsakh – a country not on the map, but still worth visiting

The Travel + Leisure magazine has included the Nagorno Karabakh Republic among the “ghost nations” that cannot even be found on the map, but where  travelers can still visit.

“The people of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic — also known as the Republic of Artsakh — expressed their desire for statehood “in the independence referendum on December 10, 1991 and the constitutional referendums on December 10, 2006 and February 20, 2017,” the magazine writes.

It also reminds that eight US states and one Australian state, as well as the Basque Parliament have adopted resolutions recognizing the Republic of Artsakh.
