Member of the ARF Bureau Vahan Hovhannisyan participated in the meeting of the Socialist International (SI) Council in Portugal, where he was elected SI regional co-chair. Hungarian MP Alexandra Dogolin will be the second co-chair.
According to Vahan Hovhannisyan, the Socialist International is one of the largest organizations, which includes Socialist parties from almost all countries of the world. “The correct work in such organizations benefits our country,” Hovhannisyan told reporters in Yerevan.
“The Turkish party was not in the hall. They had probably left the room in order not to participate in the voting. The Socialist Party of Georgia was granted an observer status. Azerbaijan lost its status, as there are actually no parties in that country except the one led by Aliyev,” he said.
