Armenia launches mass production of new generation passports

Armenian Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan has symbolically launched the mass production of Armenia’s new generation passports during a visit to the production facilities of IN Groupe in Haarlem, the Netherlands.

Leading a delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Sargsyan toured the company’s manufacturing plant, where the multi-stage production process for Armenia’s new identity documents is being carried out.

During the visit, the technical and artistic designs of the new passports and national ID cards were finalized. Additional refinements were also made to ensure the documents fully comply with international security standards while meeting the expectations of all user groups.

By pressing a ceremonial button, Minister Sargsyan officially marked the start of large-scale passport production.

The new passports are undergoing multiple stages of quality control and international certification to ensure they meet the highest standards of document security and protection.

The first batch of the new national ID cards has already arrived in Armenia, while the delivery of the new passports is expected to begin soon.

In line with its public commitment, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in partnership with its private-sector partner, will begin issuing the new generation passports and ID cards this autumn. Citizens will be able to obtain the new documents at dedicated offices opening in Yerevan and across Armenia’s regions.
