Armenian Education Minister inspects ongoing renovation at Genocide Memorial Complex

Armenian Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan has paid another visit to the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex to inspect the progress of the second phase of renovation works.

The minister was accompanied by the Ministry’s Secretary General Hasmik Hakobyan and Acting Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Hrachya Tashchyan.

Representatives of the contractor briefed the minister on the progress of the project, noting that the construction and landscaping works are being carried out under professional technical supervision to ensure quality standards.

The second phase of the renovation includes the restoration of three additional pylons of the Temple of Eternity as well as renovation works in the museum section of the complex.

The first phase of the project was completed in April. It included the major renovation of the central, western and eastern sections of the memorial complex, restoration of the Temple of Eternity pylons, installation of a new drainage system, waterproofing of the pylons and memorial wall foundations, replacement of rear and side façade stone slabs, new paving around the pylons, construction of a new walkway along the memorial wall, landscaping of the green areas, and modernization of the irrigation network.
