Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan has accused the authorities of orchestrating a campaign against his party during and after the parliamentary election, alleging the misuse of administrative resources, political pressure, and violations of electoral procedures.
In a statement addressed to supporters, Tsarukyan said Prosperous Armenia entered the election with a strong team and a comprehensive program aimed at protecting the country from political and economic risks. He claimed, however, that the ruling force abandoned a “civilized campaign” early in the race and instead launched what he described as an “unlawful and immoral campaign” against the party, including criminal prosecutions and arrests of supporters.
Tsarukyan further alleged that after vote recounts confirmed the party had secured enough votes to enter parliament, the Central Electoral Commission annulled results from two polling stations without ordering a repeat vote, a move he said was intended to deprive Prosperous Armenia of parliamentary representation.
The opposition leader pledged to continue defending voters’ ballots through all legal means available, announcing that the party’s legal teams are preparing appeals and court challenges. He also said Prosperous Armenia would begin consultations with other opposition forces to coordinate future actions.
Tsarukyan thanked political parties, public figures, and media outlets that have expressed support for his party and vowed to continue the struggle for what he called justice and the protection of voters’ interests.
