
Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air has announced a major expansion of its operations in Armenia, including the basing of a third aircraft at Zvartnots International Airport and the launch of two new European destinations.
The announcement was made during a press conference held on March 27 at Zvartnots International Airport, where the airline outlined its future development plans in the Armenian market.
According to Ian Malin, Chief Commercial Officer at Wizz Air, the third aircraft will be based in Yerevan starting October 2026, further strengthening the airline’s presence in the region.
Two new routes were also unveiled:
- Yerevan – Eindhoven – Yerevan: Flights to Eindhoven will begin on October 26, 2026, operating three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
- Yerevan – Charleroi – Yerevan: Flights to Charleroi will launch on February 1, 2027, also with a frequency of three weekly flights on the same days.
Speakers at the event included Lusine Gevorgyan, Chairperson of the Tourism Committee of Armenia’s Ministry of Economy, Stepan Payaslyan, Deputy Head of the Civil Aviation Committee, Marcelo Wende, Director of “Armenia” International Airports, and Marieke Monroy-Winter, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Armenia.
With this expansion, Wizz Air will operate a total of 18 routes connecting Armenia to 10 countries, further enhancing the country’s air connectivity and supporting tourism growth.
