President Emmanuel Macron named centrist veteran Francois Bayrou as France’s new prime minister on Friday, December 13, his office said in a statement.
Bayrou replaces Michel Barnier who resigned last week after far-right and leftist lawmakers voted to topple the government, plunging France into its second major political crisis in six months.
