
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York.
The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including the bilateral agenda, deepening of Armenia-EU partnership, regional issues.
“We highly appreciate Germany’s support for the continuous effective implementation of democratic reforms in Armenia both bilaterally and on the EU platform, and this, of course, brings Armenia closer to the European Union, we are exploring new perspectives of cooperation,” the Armenian FM emphasized.
The sides noted that Armenia-EU cooperation is developing in a number of important directions, wbich is reflected in the new Armenia-EU partnership agenda.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Germany made a detailed reference to the regional developments.
In the context of the security situation in the South Caucasus, thoughts were exchanged on the latest developments in the process of normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that at this moment there is a real possibility of concluding a peace treaty, noting that its realization requires strong political will, which Armenia has clearly expressed.
