Armenian Ambassador briefs students of Oxford Diplomatic Society on history of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Armenia’s Ambassador to United Kingdom Varuzhan Nersesyan had an online meeting with students of the Oxford Diplomatic Society, during which he presented the history of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the current situation, as well as Azerbaijan’s aggressive policy, and the process of normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.

Ambassador Nersesyan presented in details the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor and its humanitarian consequences, touched upon the military operations carried out by Azerbaijan against the People of Nagorno-Karabakh on September 19, as a result of which 100,000 Armenians left their Homeland and found refuge in Armenia. Ambassador Nersesyan noted that the leadership of Azerbaijan implemented a targeted policy of ethnic cleansing, emphasizing the right of the Armenian population to return safely to their homes.

The Ambassador also touched upon the foreign policy priorities of the Republic of Armenia, underlined the regional challenges, as well as the democratic reforms carried out in Armenia .
