Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said the newly announced US export authorization for NVIDIA technology, enabling Firebird’s large-scale AI investment project in Armenia, is a development of “significant strategic importance” for the country’s tech sector and overall economy.
Speaking to reporters, Pashinyan emphasized that the project aligns directly with the Memorandum of Intent signed in Washington on August 8 and thanked US President Donald Trump for his personal involvement.
“I want to express my gratitude to President Trump,” Pashinyan said. “This project is being implemented in the logic of the memorandum signed in Washington on August 8, and I recently had the opportunity to speak with President Trump about it. Investors had certain concerns regarding procedures, and I am glad and grateful that the White House responded quickly and appropriately. As a result, the program will now confidently move forward.”
The Prime Minister congratulated Firebird and the broader Armenian tech community, calling the investment a “highly significant” milestone.
“This is a very weighty and important investment program. I congratulate Firebird, the entire sector, and all of us,” he said.
Firebird, a US-based AI cloud and infrastructure company, has received US export authorization and announced its first $500 million investment in Armenia. This is the initial phase of a multi-billion-dollar megaproject to bring high-capacity AI supercomputing infrastructure to the region. This milestone inaugurates a new chapter in US-Armenia collaboration in advanced technology, innovation, and AI development.
