Armenian Ambassador briefs UK Minister for Europe on regional peace efforts

On December 16, Armenia’s Ambassador to UK Varuzhan Nersesyan met with Mr. Stephen Doughty, Minister of State for Europe, North America, and Overseas Territories at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.

Ambassador Nersesyan emphasized Armenia’s commitment to deepening its relationship with the United Kingdom, both through the Strategic Dialogue framework and in broader areas of collaboration. He highlighted the importance of finalizing and signing the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which would usher in unprecedented levels of cooperation between the two nations.

Ambassador Nersesyan provided an update on the current stage of the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization agreement, reiterating Armenia’s determination in achieving a lasting and durable peace in the South Caucasus. In this context, the Ambassador outlined Armenia’s Crossroads of Peace proposal, which aims to unblock all regional communications while respecting the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries through which they pass.

The discussion also addressed broader regional developments, reflecting the shared interest of stability in the region.
