Armenian weightlifter Varazdat Lalayan clinched gold in the super heavyweight category at the World Championships in Bahrain, winning his first world champion’s title.
Lalayan, 25, won a small gold medal in the snatch and a small bronze medal in the clean and jerk.
Gor Minasyan, an Armenian weightlifter representing Bahrain, who competed in the same weight category, won a small silver medal in the snatch with a result of 210 kg.
