Retrospective screening of Sergei Parajanov’s films to be held at Cinémathèque Française in Paris

Retrospective screening of Sergei Parajanov’s films will be held at Cinémathèque Française in Paris from December 5 to 15.

The event will be held under the high patronage of the Embassy of Armenia in France in cooperation with the Armenian Cinema Foundation and the Francis Kurkdjian Endowment Fund. It will honor the immortal legacy of Parajanov through the screening of his emblematic films, such as “Sayat Nova: The Color of Pomegranate,” “Achik Kerib,” “The Fire Horses,” “The Legend of the Fortress of Souram,” “The First Guy,” “Andriesh” and “Ukrainian Rhapsody.”

Three documentaries on Parajanov will also be presented: “Paradjanov, the Last Collage” by Krikor Hamel and Ruben Kevorkiantz, “The Parajanov Scandal or the Tumultuous Life of a Soviet Artist” by Serge Avédikian and Olena Fetisova, as well as “Sergei Parajanov: the Rebel” by Patrick Kazal, exploring the life and legacy of the revolutionary filmmaker.
