
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Finland Ararat Mirzoyan and Elina Valtonen have discussed the opportunities for developing cooperation in various sectors, including trade, business, information technologies and education. Reference was made to ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening democratic institutions and the support of Finland in this regard.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Elina Valtonen held detailed discussions on the agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership. Among the key tools implemented in cooperation with EU institutions and member states, the launch of dialogue on visa liberalization, the provision of support to Armenia under the European Peace Facility, and the significance of the activity of the EU Monitoring Mission were highlighted.
The discussion also touched upon cooperation within the framework of multilateral platforms including Finnish Chairmanship of the OSCE.
Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Finland exchanged views on regional issues. Minister Mirzoyan presented the efforts aimed at normalization of relations with neighboring countries. In the context of establishing lasting stability in the South Caucasus, Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of signing the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the vision of Armenia on unblocking the regional communications.
