Armenian Ambassador meets Secretary General of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Greece Tigran Mkrtchyan met with the Secretary General of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy, Member of the Greek Parliament Maximos Charakopoulos.

The Greek parliamentarian expressed gratitude for the long-term and active participation of the Armenian parliamentary delegation in the inter-parliamentary structure of Orthodox parliamentarians and expressed confidence that this cooperation will continue to be meaningful and effective for the sake of peace and the preservation of common Christian values.

Referring to the activities of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy, Ambassador Mkrtchyan emphasized the importance of raising international awareness about the preservation of Christian monuments, their distortion or destruction.

The parties agreed to cooperate in preparing for the visit of the organization’s delegation to Yerevan early next year.
