Gnel Sanosyan quits as Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure

Gnel Sanosyan has resigned from the post of Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure. He made the announcement on social media.

“The three years of my tenure were full of a number of challenges. In addition to the work itself, we have encountered unforeseen, unplanned and urgent problems almost on a daily basis,” Sanosyan said in a lengthy post on Facebook.

“Construction of new roads, forced displacement from Nagorno-Karabakh, flooding. And these are just the biggest challenges,” he said.

Gnel Sanosyan expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for the trust and opportunity, to the deputy Prime Ministers, fellow Ministers, the Prime Minister’s staff, representatives of legislative and executive bodies, subordinate bodies, governors, heads of local self-government bodies, international and local partners, and his team at the Ministry of Territorial Administration.

The announcement comes hours after media reports on the dismissal of a number of government officials. Some have already confirmed the resignations.
