On October 11, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Davit Karapetyan handed over the certificate of the appointment to the Honorary Consul of Armenia to Flanders, Bertrand Verkaeren. Tigran Balayan, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of Belgium, as well as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Republic of Armenia Eric De Muynck were also present at the ceremony.
During the private conversation following the ceremony, the newly appointed consul presented his vision of deepening the Armenian-Flemish trade ties, the possibilities of making Armenia more recognizable in the Flemish business environment were also discussed.
