Armenian Justice Minister Grigor Minasyan has resigned.
“Today I decided to join the petition against my tenure. I submitted my resignation to the Prime Minister,” Minasyan said in a lengthy post on Facebook.
“I am very grateful and will always fondly remember all the other MPs who welcomed and supported me, all the colleagues of the government who became my friends and, of course, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan who gave me the greatest opportunity,” he said.
Minasyan noted tgat people have always expected quick and immediate restoration of justice from justice ministers, but added that it is not a Minister’s function. “It is reserved for law enforcement and the courts.”
“We are policy makers and institutional system improvers. Much has already been done in both directions. The results will be visible soon, but already under the next ministers,” he added.
“Of course, I could be more patient, stay and fight for all this and continue to calmly present the huge work done, but I decided to return to an environment more familiar to me. It is posdible to contribute to the sphere of justice being in the private sector as well,” the minister wrote.
