
The Constitutional Court of Armenia has ruled that the Regulation on the joint activity of the border commissions of Armenia and Azerbaijan complies with the Constitution.
The Court said the obligations laid down in the regulation on the joint activity of the commissions signed on August 30, 2024, comply with the Constitution.
According to Article 170, Part 2 of the Constitution, this decision is final and comes into force from the moment of its publication.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry announced the signing of the Regulation on August 30.
The Regulation states that the commissions will rely on the Alma-Ata Declaration as a fundamental principle of the process of delimitation of the state border between the two countries.
The Regulation implies organization of border demarcation works and adoption of relevant documents, preparation of the state border crossing protocol-description and guidelines for creation of delimitation maps.
