Georgia ready to play a role i ensuring stability in the region – PM

The relations between Georgia and Armenia are based on long-standing friendly ties that exist between our peoples based on centuries of mutual respect, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said at a joint press conference with visiting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

“I am very happy that as a result of all this, a strategic partnership has been established from a political point of view, which will support the further deepening of our relations. I am very happy that the signing of the strategic partnership agreement played an important role and brought practical results,” the Prime Minister said.

“Georgia supports peace and stability in the South Caucasus,” the Prime Minister said, emphasizing that “our efforts, particularly in the direction of overcoming the existing difficulties in the region, continue. Georgia welcomes the positive progress towards the resolution of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and we are ready to play our role in ensuring stability in the region to the extent of our capabilities,” Kobazhidze said.
