Armenia international Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored late to seal Roma’s 3-1 victory against Verona.
Roma were 2-1 up at half-time in an entertaining clash at the Bentegodi, as hosts Hellas Verona had two goals disallowed.
Justin Kluivert opened the score in the 17th minute, but it didn’t last long, as Verona’s Marco Faraoni equalized within four minutes.
Roma restored their advantage close into the end of the first half. In the 45th minute Edin Dzeko was clumsily hauled down by Koray Gunter for a penalty, which substitute Perotti coolly converted.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who came in for Cengiz Ünder for the final 25 minuted, sealed the victory in the injury time.
