Renowned scholar, academician Yuri Oganessian has been awarded St. Mesrop Mashtots Order for his significant contribution to science.
The Order was handed by Armenia’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Arayik Harutyunyan.
“It is a great honor to be with him, to personally hand over this high award,” the Minister said in a Facebook post.
Yuri Oganessian has an element named after him in Mendeleev’s periodical table.
Oganesson (Og) was added to the table in December 2016.
