The sitting of the Interchurch-Theological Council took place at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Issues related to inter-church and inter-religious relations were discussed.
The council adopted a statement on the “Innocence of Muslims” film: “The Armenian Apostolic Church strongly condemns the creation and dissemination of the film, which served as a reason for painful expressions of religious intolerance and violence and resulted in human losses.
Condemnable are all such provocative phenomena on the religious basis, which do not contribute to the establishment of an atmosphere of inter-religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence. Religion and faith should not become a tool of violence, for God is not a God of confusion but of peace.”
