Armenian PM casts ballot, says “the people will win”

Armenian Prime Minister and leader of the ruling Civil Contract party, Nikol Pashinyan, cast his vote in the country’s parliamentary elections at polling station No. 8/20 in Yerevan’s Shengavit district.

Speaking briefly to journalists after voting, Pashinyan shared his vision for Armenia’s future and emphasized the importance of the elections.

“I am confident that the people will win. This is not a personal matter. My expectation is that the citizens of Armenia will prevail,” he said.

Commenting on the potential implications of the elections for the wider region, the prime minister stressed the role of democracy in promoting cooperation and stability.

“I believe that democracy always works in favor of regional and international cooperation. And, of course, democracy is an important tool for regional peace,” said the Civil Contract leader.

Armenians are voting in the country’s parliamentary elections to elect members of the National Assembly. The vote is being closely watched both domestically and internationally, with 18 political forces competing for seats in the legislature.

During a 40-minute visit to pre-election Armenia, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Armenian MFA Ararat Mirzoyan signed a strategic cooperation agreement, a framework agreement on critical minerals, and a TRIPP framework agreement aimed at giving the West access to Central Asian markets.

The signing comes amid growing Russian economic pressure, including export restrictions.

The use of the advanced technologies will make it possible to detect various types of cancer in children at earlier stages and provide more effective treatment. The equipment will make it possible to conduct many examinations and researches in Armenia.

For the purchase of the latest generation medical equipment benefactor Mikael Vardanyan donated 127 million drams.
