Armenian businesses can now import goods from Turkey without intermediaries: SRC

Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) announced that, as of May 11, 2026, the procedural preparations necessary for the launch of direct trade between Armenia and Turkey have been completed.

According to the SRC, the process was carried out within the framework of the Armenia-Turkey normalization process underway since 2022 and forms part of confidence-building measures between the two countries.

Under a new regulation that has entered into force in Turkey, goods exported from Turkey can now officially list Armenia as their final destination.

Previously, Turkish supplier companies were unable to indicate Armenian businesses as recipients in export declarations submitted to Turkish customs authorities, nor could Armenia be listed as the destination country. As a result, goods destined for Armenia were delivered through intermediary entities in third countries, including Georgia, under re-export arrangements.

The SRC said that under the new procedures Armenian businesses can now import goods from Turkey directly in their own name without intermediaries.

The committee noted that the change is expected to simplify logistics, reduce additional costs associated with intermediary mechanisms, and shorten delivery times.
