Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) has conducted a search at the Yerevan residence of Russia-based Armenian businessman and “Tashir Group” owner Samvel Karapetyan, his lawyer Tigran Hayrapetyan has said.
Some media outlets report that Karapetyan has been arrested, although official confirmation is still pending.
A number of individuals have been detained as part of ongoing operations, the spokesperson for Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, Narek Sargsyan, confirmed in a statement.
“Several individuals have been taken into custody. Operative measures are underway,” Sargsyan said.
