Rubio says TRIPP arrangement will be a ‘model for the world’

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has emphasized the strategic importance of the TRIPP arrangement during remarks ahead of his meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

Rubio said the United States and Armenia would continue working on the implementation of the agreement, describing it as a strong example of how economic openness can be achieved without compromising national sovereignty.

According to the Secretary of State, the arrangement is designed to help Armenia expand economic opportunities and attract business while fully respecting the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He stressed that the agreement poses no sovereignty concerns and reflects a respectful partnership.

Rubio also noted that the TRIPP framework contributes to the strengthening of U.S.-Armenia bilateral relations, which he said continue to grow through agreements beyond the TRIPP arrangement itself.

“The TRIPP arrangement is shaping up to be a model for the world,” Rubio said, adding that it demonstrates how countries can promote economic activity and prosperity without undermining sovereignty. He expressed confidence that the agreement would benefit Armenia, the United States, and all parties involved, while serving as an international example of effective economic cooperation.
