No relocation requests from Armenian communities in Iran and Israel, Diaspora Office says

There have been no reports of injuries or casualties among members of the Armenian communities in either Iran or Israel, according to Nelly Ghulyan, spokesperson for the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of Armenia.

In an interview with Armenpress, Ghulyan noted that the only reported damage so far is to the editorial office of the Armenian daily Alik in Tehran.

She emphasized that despite intermittent issues with internet and communication in both countries, the Armenian government’s diaspora office maintains daily contact with community leaders in Iran and Israel.

“We haven’t received any calls or formal requests from our compatriots about leaving the country or relocating to Armenia,” Ghulyan said. “We are the ones initiating contacts to gather updates from local representatives. Although communication is sometimes difficult, we’ve managed to stay in touch daily -except for this morning, when there appears to be a more significant issue.”

According to her, most Armenians in Israel are currently staying in shelters, while those in Iran remain in their homes. Ghulyan also mentioned that based on conversations with Iranian-Armenian community leaders, one or two families have voluntarily begun driving toward Armenia on their own initiative.
