Denying or refuting the fact of genocide is a criminal offence in the Republic of Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press conference today.
He emphasized that the fact of the Genocide is indisputable and undeniable.
The comments come after Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was accused of denying the fact of genocide during a meeting with representatives of the Swiss Armenian community.
“In general, it is surprising that someone who uses the term genocide when talking about the phenomenon be accused of denying it,” Pashinyan said. He further clarified that his statement during the meeting with representatives of the Swiss Armenian community was about the fact that the topic of the Armenian Genocide should become a tool for self-recognition in a broader sense.
