Armenia’s decision to sign a strategic partnership agreement with the United States is Yerevan’s sovereign decision, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference today.
Commenting on the agreement on strategic partnership to be signed between Armenia and US later today, the Russian Foreign Minister said “it is a sovereign decision of the two states.”
According to him, what’s important is what follows the agreement.
“We have also used the term in “strategic partnership” in a number of agreements with Western countries, but none of the agreements has required one or another participant to oppose a third country,” the Russian Foreign Minister emphasized.
