Armenian and Swedish Foreign Ministers have discussed the prospects for expanding the high-level political dialogue between the two countries.
During a meeting in Stockholm, Ararat Mirzoyan and Maria Stenergard referred to issues on bilateral agenda and promotion of sectoral cooperation.
The current stage of the Armenian-EU partnership, the achievements and the opportunities for further development of the new ambitious agenda were discussed in detail.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Sweden also exchanged views on issues related to regional security and stability. Minister Mirzoyan presented the Armenian vision for achieving lasting peace in the South Caucasus, including through the normalization of relations with neighbors and the promotion of economic development in the region. The Armenian Foreign Minister presented the efforts towards concluding a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the agreement reached between the two countries on the demarcation process, based on the Alma-Ata Declaration.
In the context of regional issues, reference was made to the “Crossroads of Peace” developed by the Armenian Government, the implementation of which, according to the Armenian Foreign Minister, will effectively increase regional connectivity through the unblocking of transport infrastructure.
