In a congratulatory message to US President-elect Donald Trump, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has expressed confidence that the Armenia-US relations will be further strengthened under his presidency.
“I am confident that your rich experience, knowledge, and abilities will best serve the well-being of the American people, the advancement of U.S. interests, and the strengthening of the U.S. global role,” PM Pashinyan wrote.
“Over the past years, relations between the Republic of Armenia and the United States of America, which are anchored in the historical friendship, common values, and mutual interests of our countries, have recorded unprecedented progress. Of course, the Armenian-American community also plays a role in this process,” he added.
“I highly appreciate the effective cooperation between our countries in establishing peace and stability in the South Caucasus based on the fundamental principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity, strengthening democratic institutions in Armenia, protecting human rights and ensuring the rule of law, combating corruption, and preventing security threats,” PM Pashinyan said.
He emphasized the development of bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic, and investment sectors, as well as the full utilization of the untapped potential. “In this regard, I am pleased to note the joint efforts aimed at promoting Armenia’s economic and energy resilience. I am confident that during your presidency, Armenia-US relations will be further strengthened, and we will continue to record new achievements, realizing our vision of reaching the level of strategic partnership,” the Armenian Pm noted.
“I am hopeful that new opportunities will be created in relations between the Republic of Armenia and the United States of America, especially in the areas of establishment of lasting and stable peace in the South Caucasus, regional economic ties and communication in the event of unblocking the routes,” Pm Pashinyan said, adding that Armenia’s proposals in this regard are summarized in the “Crossroads of Peace” project.
“Allow me to once again congratulate you on your election as President of the United States, wishing you good health, success, and new achievements for the benefit of the welfare and progress of the friendly people of the United States of America,” the Prime Minister concluded.
