A court in Baku has extended the detention of the former head of government of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Ruben Vardanyan. The exact period for which the arrest was extended has not been specified.
Last week, a court in Baku also extended the detention of former leaders of the unrecognized entity Arkady Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, and Arayik Harutyunyan.
Vardanyan was illegally detained on September 27 last year by Azerbaijani border guards at the Lachin checkpoint while attempting to leave for Armenia.
