Opera legend Placido Domingo will perform with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia within the framework of the 16th Yerevan International Music Festival on October 8.
The concert will take place with the support of the Yerevan City Hall. During this exclusive evening, Armenian soprano Juliana Grigoryan will perform alongside Domingo.
The concert will feature arias, duets and preludes from famous operas, zarzuelas, as well as popular world melodies.
“My dear friends living in Armenia, I am happy for the unique opportunity to return to your beautiful country and sing for you. This time I will perform with Juliana Grigoryan, one of the best singers of the Armenian nation. I am looking forward to this beautiful evening for all of you, where we will once again enjoy wonderful music under the direction of maestro Eduard Topchyan. We will meet soon in Yerevan”, Placido Domingo said in a message.
Eduard Topchyan says the participation of such a great star in the 16th Yerevan International Music Festival is a significant event not only for Armenia, but also for the international music community.
This is Placido Domingo’s second visit to Yerevan. His first performance in Armenia was on December 3, 2010, with the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia, as part of the “Yerevan Perspectives” international music festival. The concert was again led by Eduard Topchyan, artistic director and chief conductor of the National Philharmonic Orchestra.
