Tim Walz and JD Vance to face off in only VP debate of US election

Democratic vice-presidential nominee Tim Walz and Republican JD Vance will debate each other later in New York City – five weeks ahead of the US election.

The issues they’re expected to cover include the economy, inflation, abortion rights, immigration and the Middle East conflict.

It comes three weeks after presidential nominees Kamala Harris and Donald Trump faced off in Pennsylvania, which the former was considered to have performed better in.

With no further presidential debates scheduled before election day, the stakes tonight are considered higher than normal at a VP debate.
