France will continue supporting the Armenian people: PM Pashinyan receives French FM

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the delegation led by Stéphane Séjourné French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

The Prime Minister welcomed Stephane Sejourne’s visit to the Republic of Armenia and emphasized the further development of relations with France, including in the fields of security and economy.

“Our strategy is as follows: we want to strengthen and reinforce our sovereignty, independence, our statehood, and on this path we highly value the support of France,” said Nikol Pashinyan. The Prime Minister also emphasized France’s readiness to support the development of Armenia’s relations with the EU.

Stéphane Séjourné expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasized the importance of the consistent development of Armenia-France cooperation in the fields of security and economy. “France stands by Armenia’s side and will continue its support to the Armenian people, we have also made every effort to strengthen the relations between our two peoples,” the French Minister said.

The interlocutors discussed various issues on the agenda of Armenia-France relations. Thoughts were exchanged on Armenia-EU cooperation. The parties emphasized the start of the dialogue on visa liberalization, as well as the adoption of the decision to provide support to the Republic of Armenia from the European Peace Fund.

Reference was also made to the discussions on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty, as well as to the processes taking place in the region.
