Armenia wins bronze at first International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad

Armenia has won a bronze medal at the first International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia September 8-12.

The event featured 90 students from 25 countries, each country could be represented by a maximum of four students.

The Armenian Olympic team was represented by 11th grade student Eduard Arzumanyan and 10th grade student Sevak Yegoryan of the Shahinyan Physical Mathematics Special School, 10th grade student of Yerevan State University’s (YSU) STEM High School Hovhannes Baghramyan and 12th grade student of Gyumri’s Photon College Gevorg Grigoryan.

Gevorg Grigoryan from Photon college won the bronze medal, while Eduard Arzumanyan and Sevak Yegoryan received certificates of appreciation.

The Armenian team was led by Artur Avagyan (executive director of the Educational and Research Center of Information Technologies of YSU) and Mher Yerznkyan (AI engineer at Buymie company).

Let’s remind that in the 2023-2024 academic year, 105 students from 12 educational institutions of the republic took part in other international Olympiads and won 6 gold, 17 silver and 35 bronze medals.
