
Lasting peace in the South Caucasus is not only possible, but also realistic, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during the Yerevan Dialogue international forum.
The Prime Minister confirmed that 80 percent of the agreement has been agreed.
“Thirtheen articles and the preamble of the project are fully agreed, three more articles, which consist mainly of two sentences, are partially agreed, one of the sentences of these articles is agreed, the other is not agreed,” PM Pashinyan further elaborated.
He did not reveal the content of the sentences, but mentioned that official Yerevan proposes to sign the agreed provisions, to have a fundamental document and then continue discussions on the remaining issues.
Pashinyan said that one of the agreed articles of the peace treaty provides for a mechanism that will enable Yerevan and Baku to continue discussions through a joint mechanism, also noting that the agreed part of the peace treaty envisages establishing diplomatic relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The Prime Minister of Armenia reaffirmed his readiness to sign the agreed provisions “in the soonest period posdible.”
