Talks and discussions on the return of Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan are taking place in Azerbaijan in all formats National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan said at a briefing with reporters today.
“We keep raising the issue anywhere possible,” Simonyan said.
He said, the issue is not included in the draft peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, noting that it is included in the tripartite statement of November 9, 2020, where it is stated that Russia and Azerbaijan undertakes to return captives and other detained persons.
“Russia and Azerbaijan are not fulfilling their obligation at this stage. Does this mean that Russia and Azerbaijan are going to withdraw their signature from the November 9 statement?” concluded Simonyan.
