Armenian students win four medals at 56th International Chemistry Olympiad

The Armenian team won four bronze medals at the 56th International Chemistry Olympiad held in the city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on July 21-30.

The event featured 327 students from 88 countries, a maximum of four representatives from each country.

The Armenian team was represented by Arman Kharatyan (11th grade) and Artavazd Arabachyan (12th grade) students of Vanadzor special school with in-depth learning of Mathematics and Natural sciences, Sergey Tadevosyan, a 12th grade student of Quantum College, and Beniamin Hayrapetyan, a 12th grader from Sevan High School. The Olympiad was held in practical and theoretical stages.

The team was led by Andranik Davinyan, researcher of the Scientific and Technological Center of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry.

The Armenian team had won one gold and two bronze medals at the 55th International Chemistry Olympiad held in Switzerland.
