Armenia’s Ambassador briefs Cyprus Defense Minister on regional developments

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Cyprus Tigran Mkrtchyan (residence in Athens) met the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Cyprus Vasilis Palmas during his working visit to Nicosia on June 20.

Ambassador Tigran Mkrtchyan expressed confidence that the Minister’s upcoming visit to Armenia will boost the effective cooperation of the two countries in the military field.

The interlocutors discussed the steps implemented and to be implemented in the direction of development of bilateral cooperation between Armenia and Cyprus in the field of defense. The importance of joint exercises, exchange of experience between special forces, including the organization of courses and joint exercises was emphasized. Prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of military education were discussed.

The Armenian Ambassador briefed Minister Palmas on the latest regional developments, the security environment around Armenia, the border delimitation between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the work on peace treaty.
