Armenian FM briefs Dutch counterpart on Crossroads of Peace project

On the sidelines of the 30th OSCE Ministerial Forum in Skopje, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with his Dutch counterpart Hanke Bruins Slot.

The interlocutors hailed the active political dialogue between the two countries and expressed readiness to take joint steps to expand the bilateral agenda in new directions.

Issues related to Armenia-EU comprehensive partnership agenda were discussed.. Referring to the process of reforms in the fields of strengthening democratic institutions, rule of law and protection of human rights in Armenia, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the strong support of the Netherlands, including in the EU format, for democracy and sovereignty in Armenia.

During the meeting, thoughts were also exchanged on issues related to regional security, as well as on the steps taken to establish lasting stability in the South Caucasus. In this context, Ararat Mirzoyan presented Armenia’s vision to his colleague, which also includes the “Crossroads of Peace” project developed by the Armenian government.

Reference was made to the need to address the rights of Armenians forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh due to Azerbaijan’s ethnic cleansing policy.
