Gevorg Ghazaryan to bid farewell to fans ahead of Armenia-Croatia match

Gevorg Ghazaryan, the former midfielder of the Armenian national team, will bid farewell to fans at Hanrapetskan (Republican) Stadium in Yerevan tonight.

The fans will have the opportunity to express their gratitude to Gevorg Ghazaryan ahead of Armenia-Croatia match that kicks off at 8 pm Yerevan time.

Ghazaryan announced retirement from football on August 31.

Gevorg Ghazaryan debuted for the national team on August 22, 2007 in the match of the qualifying round of the European Championship against Portugal.

This year, the football player reached an important achievement in his career, crossing the 500 matches mark. Only 11 reached the milestone during the 30-year history of independent Armenian football.

Ghazaryan is a six-time champion of Armenia, a two-time cup winner and a two-time super cup winner.

During the 17 years at the Armenian national team, the attacking midfielder has been capped 73 times, scoring 14 goals since his debut on January 14, 2007.

On club level he played for Pyunik Yerevan, Banants Yerevan, Metalurh Donetsk, Shakhter Karagandy, Olympiacos, Kerkyra, Marítimo, Chaves, AEL Limassol, Lamia and Ararat-Armenia.
