
A magnitude 5.3 earthquake hit 23 km southeast of the city of Khoy in Iran at 07:16 local time (03:16 GMT), the Armenian Seismic Protection Service reports.
The quake was registered at the depth of 10 km. The intensity reached 7 at the epicenter.
The tremor was felt in Armenia’s Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Kotayk and Ararat regions, as well as capital Yerevan.
